Its time to make the jump into the wonderful world of electro-pneumatic weaponry, and I found this little blue toy for the upgrade. All I can say is WOW this thing rocks! Its so damned fast! It carried my fool ass through the biggest tournament of the season with flying colors. I've been tearing it down and rebuilding it to get the feel for the gun's internals, and so far there haven't been any major screw-ups on my part. I have the trigger set up so sweet now, and the gun is surprisingly efficient with the Nitro that I think I'll be keeping it for a while. I plan to upgrade the hell out of it, mostly with New Designz parts, so it will perform even better. I'll keep you posted as I upgrade.
PMI Piranha Pro EXT G3
I realize it isn't a fully loaded Cocker or an Angel LCD but damn I LOVE this marker! I got a great deal on in, yet another sweet deal from the gang at Paintball Mayhem, and man its quite a weapon. I've fired a good deal of paint through it without any problems, no breakage, no misfires, just sweet splat action. For the price I'd recommend this marker to anyone. I should also mention the polycarbonate barrel, it struck me as mostly a gimmick, but its actually quite accurate and durable. So far upgrades have been limited to a Dye Xcel barrel, and a Ricochet 2K digital hopper. I'm guessing an aluminum grip frame and trigger will be next.
Sheridan PGP Pistol
Remember the good old days when a PGP was a desired main marker? I remember being all cool when I replaced my olive green Splatmaster with a PGP. I was a king among paintball men... or some shit like that. Anyhoo, I recently acquired a new one thanks to the good folks at Paintball Mayhem. Its solid, sexy, and deadly, just like I remember it being. You can never have too many markers, and a reliable sidearm is a must kiddies. Oh yeah, and don't forget to pick up a holster so you can be cool like me.
JT USA Spectra Flex-7 Ize
I decided I had better pick up a second mask, and I might as well get something that kicks some ass. I decided on the Ize in Moss Green complete with a Prizm thermal lens. I really like the translucent green rubber construction, I'm hoping it'll lead to more bounces so I can stay in the game longer. It also fits my strangely shaped melon a better than my other mask. And naturally I scored it from Paintball Mayhem.
JT USA Thermal Crossfire Tactical Mask
You know you need a mask, so you might as well get a good one. I plan to upgrade to a better one some day, but for now this mask seems more than adequate. And you gotta love the Thermal lens action, I can run around like a maniac with the screaming and the shooting and carrying on like I'm disturbed and it didn't fog up once! Another toy obtained from Paintball Mayhem.
Ricochet 2K hopper
What can I say about this loader... I wasn't overly impressed with the whole idea of having to sand the neck to fit my marker. That just seems like more of a pain in the ass than is necessary. Its going to take some time and use to get used to a loader with an agitator, a digital display screen, and timers, alarms, etc. but so far I'm enjoying this loader. I'll keep you posted.
PMI Deluxe 6+1 Harness
There's no point heading into battle without adequate ammunition, so I picked up a 6+1 harness. There's nothing like having hundreds and hundreds of paintballs strapped to my ass. I also have a 20oz tank with a coiled remote, just to make sure adequate air isn't a problem.
R. P. Scherer Marballizer
I'm currently using R. P. Scherer's Marballizer paint to terrorize Moncton, Dieppe, and the local paintball fields. Shit its a smooth shooting ball. Accurate, and it seems to cycle through the marker faster than other paint I've tried. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for good paint without spending extra for tournament grade paint.
Viewloader Genesis Semi
I scored Viewloader's first entry into the paintball marker market, and I must admit at first I was impressed. Considering its their first marker, and considering they're owned by Brass Eagle it didn't strike me as a bad starter marker. I equipped it with a Viewloader 200 round hopper, a 9oz Brass Eagle tank, and a buttplate for the bottle. The marker performed a lot better in my backyard than it did on the field. At the end of its first day on the field it ate an O-ring, and upon further investigation it turned out inside the body of the marker was gouging the bolt. Nice... Needless to say it went back the next day and was quickly replaced with the G3.
